Margaret Cohen: Gallery at the Metuchen Library Curator

Margaret Cohen, curator of the Gallery, took on the task in the fall of 2019. Soon after, COVID happened and everything shut down.  Thus, 2022 has really been her inaugural year. A volunteer, Margaret brings to this job both her background as a pastel artist and as a social worker. An active member of the Pastel Society of New Jersey, she has helped to install numerous shows and planned their programs for 6 years. After she retired from her job as a social worker in Newark PUblic Schools, she began volunteering at the Gallery under the leadership of Kathy Glaser, one of the founders of the Gallery. She continues the original vision of showcasing local artists and also seeking out talent from further afield. In appreciation for the FOTML, who fund the Gallery and many library activities, she spearheaded the recent 10x10x100 show which culminated in a successful gala evening and sale to benefit the FOTML. Currently the committee is busy planning for 2023 and beyond.
